EVENT DETAILS This multi-artist fashion show, hosted by Chico Creative Reuse, is taking place Saturday, March 22, 2025, during the day, on a closed street, located at 603 Orange Street, in Chico, CA. Models will walk an outdoor runway, to live music, as part of the Maker’s Muse Festival hosted by Maker Radio. Fashion show decor and direction is provided by Chico Creative Reuse. Artists are responsible for model hair, makeup and styling. ____________________ WHO CAN APPLY
All levels of experience are welcome! This invitation is open to individuals or collaborative teams, whether you are a beginner, developing or established artist. !8 and under must be accompanied by an adult. ____________________ REQUIREMENTS Each artist may have a minimum of one and maximum of three designs that can be showcased. Artists and models (or representatives) must be available for:
Rehearsal March 21st (the day before the show) time to be announced
Check in 10am March 22 (2 hours before the show starts)
We are looking for outfits or accessories that: - Are made primarily from materials that are repurposed or thrifted - Have a creative vision: Pieces that tell a story or push the boundaries of fashion. - Include inclusive styles and variety of aesthetics, from avant-garde to everyday wearable art. ----- Creative reuse, also known as upcycling, is the process of repurposing discarded materials into new products of higher value, artistic expression, or functional use. It focuses on reducing waste and extending the life of materials that might otherwise end up in landfills. Examples of creative reuse materials include but not limited to: Fibers & Textiles Magazines and Newspapers Cardboard tubes and boxes Old books and calendars Wood & Metal Plastics Electronics & Technology Components Other Miscellaneous Items ____________________ APPLICATION PROCESS From the applications, we are accepting a select number of artists to showcase their work in this unique celebration of creative reuse. Our selection process will prioritize creativity, alignment with the theme of upcycling and reuse, and the ability to deliver completed pieces within the project timeline. Submissions are due by Friday, February 28Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of organizers and community partners. Selected artists will be notified by Saturday. March 8, 2025.
